Ok so my expectations for this episode? Hopefully continuing on the more serious, more science fiction angle that the series has now. If it’s silly, then it’s back to it’s old ways. But this is the first time travelling episode, pretty much, of SJA, so therefore it needs to be good. The characters are allowed to develop alone again here, much like in the last episode, so we should really see their characters expand more.
Ok so we have Clyde’s introduction… Alien sighting. Loving Clyde’s leather jacket. Sarah searching for aliens… no that’s a parrot. Did she say ‘haven’t the foggiest’? Hope not. Oh a lovely song box, a spear. The shopkeeper. Wow, arrow from Harold’s eye. Interesting. Tapestry of Time. I’m using that. Clever shopkeeper. Time under threat. Chronostein can reshape time, and it moulded into three objects. Find the objects and stop it reshaping time.
It’s an anomoly from Primeval! And they’ve gone… That all happened very quick. They have until the sands run out. Lovely timey-wimey idea, well thought through. Good characters so far. I have high hopes. Ok so Clyde first. Work it out! Three times, three people. Sarah Jane. Waiting for her to mention the Doctor or time travel or the fact she hasn’t done it for years. And now Rani. Tower of London, lovely. Queen Jane, Lady Jane Grey. Not Queen for long though… made Queen 9 days ago. So she leaves the throne on THAT day then.
No network on Clyde’s phone. Evacuated, so yes, well done Clyde. Even I could guess 1941. Yes he meant Nazis, big dramatic monsters. She isn’t haunting the house. She haunts the attic. No she doesn’t, only joking. So Sarah is a real person. BIGGEST SHOCK OF THE SERIES! Not. Ghosts in the house, Clyde spying on Nazis and Rani is the Lady in Waiting.
Erasamus Darkening’s house surely. Oh back to the 40s. C40 means Clyde in the 1940s. RT means Rani in Tudors. And SJG means Sarah Jane Ghost hunting. It’s a lot easier. So this is Lady Jane Grey. Good answer from Lady Rani. And she was the Queen, Lady Jane Grey. No wonder she didn’t last long. Yes home is a long way away. So nice little history lesson. Ah she never wanted to be Queen. So she’s made friends with the Queen. Oh here we go. Mention of Clyde? Yes clearly.
Oh here he is. The Captain the Parrot voicing his opinion. Love the Shopkeeper, worthy of Doctor Who. Now back to SJG. Nothing to comment on. Oh could that be a ghost? No it’s a clock, the haunting begins at 8 o clock, here we go…. Move on? Maybe? No. There’s something in that room. This could be quite a good story actually. Not sure about the 40s one yet. Meant to be looking for something.
It’s good, a real historical event! Detail, description, effort has been put into the Tudors one. A real historical event, it teaches you, it makes it exciting and it makes it a good story. The 40s one is more exciting than a good story. And the other one – the 1800 one is creepy but not particularly dramatic.
Echo of the future. At last a sensible alternative name for an episode! So I had to go and have dinner, but I did watch the rest of the episode! It was very good, and continued to be very clever. Lots of twists and turns to come as well….
See you tomorrow!
James
