Now – the Death of the Doctor Overall Review will be up soon. The Overall review for The Empty Planet will be up after that.
Now I expect this episode to be more boring than part one. Part One had the mystery, the wonder, the scary-ness. Part Two has big robots, which could solve the problem too early. Solving the problem removes the mystery, and the mystery really made The Empty Planet part one good. So big robot chase, fine. But with no mystery, we could be back in normal kids show territory.
Previously trailer. Nope. Introduction. Lovely, all of that, ready, always, logo, previously. The Empty Teapot. Weapons powering up. Gavin! Joy…. It’s a robot, waste paper bins don’t stop it. What a rubbish escape, dear dear dear. Clyde posing as an Auton/Mannequin. Dumb yellow robot. The words DIRECTOR ASHLEY WAY somewhat spoil that scene. Clyde escapes.
Now here he is running. Chucked a bin at it. No you shoved a bin into it and it took a few seconds to recover. Yes you have seen it, why are you running over with such urgency? Spanish, maybe. Gavin, don’t understand it. Not an alien then. Up thata way. More you understand, bring everyone back, so on. Not sure about Gavin. Rani now calling the cafe HQ. Clyde continuing his ketchup obsession. Yesterday he brought it over for a sausage roll. Today he brings Mustard.
Attic, etc.. Time travel, yes Gavin. Your kids…. that’s a difference. Yes! Robots can’t take them because they are grounded on Earth. Why didn’t they take Gavin? Right on cue. Those robots do not scare me. That’s the big it’s locked dilemma solved. Sonic lipstick not helping Clyde’s image. Not sure that kiss was either…. The robots didn’t leave them behind because they were grounded. They left them behind so we could see their relationship blossom! Not the robots’ relationship, Clyde and Rani’s. Robot relationship? Let’s not go there….
Big chase still. Oh dear. Could hear it coming really. Here it comes again. Ah it must be love, they even share cliffhangers at the same time. Yellow robot confused, so is the red one. Robots speak Spanish…. of course. Comedy’s back oh well I said the mystery would vanish. Still it does mean we can get on with the action. Hug 2. Robots slightly slow. Robots saying Lady Gaga, gigglesome. My German teacher said Lady Gaga the other day, but he said Lady Gaga – as in a baby ga ga. Still.
Give us air. Is that what they said? So robots can speak and we are discovering why they are here. Everyone alive. Gavin on his bike. Give the robots air by 0 or the humans are stuck. Son and heir. Prince. Gavin. Gavin’s dad ran off to the robot planet. Gavin’s dad is alien king, Gavin’s dad is dead so they now need the son and heir. Gavin is the son and the heir of his dad, who was an alien king. Like the plot, but it was obvious Gavin was important. So Gavin is the son and heir of an alien king. Wow.
Royal Robots. And they will bring everyone home, as soon as the robots have their new King, the son and heir, Gavin. Not the heir anymore Gavin’s dad’s dead. So he’s the King now. Here we go, finding the King. They want the King. But the King is not their, Gavin is not there. They can’t see him. Didn’t like talking about him ‘cos he was an alien King. The ring is stopping him becoming King. He needs to be King or no one comes back. And the ring comes off…. Son and heir. The new King of the robots’ planet. Bio-damper! Awesome! Lovely planets there, cool planet, very cool planet. He now knows he’s the King, he can become the King and all the humans can come back!
Humans back, King found. Lord and Lady, very nice. So they all came back in time. Are they about to find out about the aliens? Everyone blanked out for an hour and a half. No one could find Rani and Clyde. Sarah Jane the best thing ever, everyone back. Ahhh, got each other. Now Lost in Time. 1941, Nazis. Tower of London, lady in waiting. 1889, ghosts. They must save things in different time periods and be back in time for tea. Interesting next episode.
